Just like their fellow scholars in elementary and K-8 schools, Savannah-Chatham County’s middle school and high school students will be required to wear uniforms to school when classes begin on Wednesday.

Supply lists and and complete district policy regarding uniform requirements for each school are available online at sccpss.com. Face masks will be required for all students riding the school buses, but will be optional once inside the school buildings.

Generally for all schools, uniform tops must be one-color polo-type shirts, collared blouses or turtle necks. No ornamentation other than school insignia, if available, is allowed. Bottoms must be made of standard uniform material (cotton and/or twill). Pants/slacks must be of appropriate size (not too big nor too small or tight), be worn at the natural waist (with a belt if the pants have belt loops), and not drag on the floor. Also, belts must be solid navy, black or brown and without overly-large belt buckles that may be a distraction. Girls may wear similar-color (including plaid) skirts, skorts, or jumpers.

Elementary Schools:Here’s what to know about supplies, rules

Shorts, skirts, skorts and jumpers must be no shorter than three inches above the knee. Pants, slacks, skirts, skorts, shorts and jumpers must have a finished hem. No denim jeans, skirts, or cargo pants are allowed.
