Mayor Todd Gloria On Monday, we announced a package of initiatives aimed at producing more homes throughout the city that residents of all income levels can buy.

“The roof above you at an affordable price is the goal of this home package,” Gloria said. “Whether you’re a senior living in San Diego for decades or a student educated from one of our world-class universities, I make sure your future is here. I think that I want to do it.

“To do so, we need to build more affordable homes at different income levels,” he continued. “This set of initiatives will help us do that.”

At a press conference on Monday morning, Gloria and other city officials were asked by the city’s planning department to facilitate the creation of city-wide housing options for everyone, regardless of age, income, or neighborhood. Outlined the proposed initiatives being developed. Housing packages are called “houses for all of us.”

“The initiative announced today will help build more affordable homes faster and create areas where San Diegan can move around the city in a more sustainable way,” said city planning director Mike Hansen. I will. “Our city staff is focused on finding creative options to increase access to homes available to families, students, seniors, and current and future San Diegan.”
