The Ruth home, in the bustling Augusta Road area of Greenville, is truly an oasis on their street, with its lush green lawn and soothing color palette of soft whites and blue greens. The attention to detail, visible to even those driving by, is something that continues through the entire home. Wendy and Matt are a dynamic due of home design and décor; she, a realtor and decorator, and he, a builder with a penchant for superb materials and smart construction, have created yet another beautiful, functional home in this Greenville gem.

One of the first things to note in the home is the front entry; it sets the warm, welcoming tone the home is centered around. The eye-catching triple X design on the glass doors (something Matt created that shows up throughout the home) are painted in that perfect shade of green, and they lead into a wide entry hallway with tall ceilings and impressive wainscoting, warmly lit with glass lanterns. All together, it just feels luxurious. The whitewashed hardwood floors and use of white shutters everywhere contribute to something that Matt and Wendy consider a must-have in their homes: natural light. That light from the numerous, large windows and the special light fixtures, like the huge capiz shell orbs above the oversize kitchen island, make the space feel super open

and airy.

Every space has been finished with careful thought as to who will use it and how. There is vertical shiplap in the powder room on the main floor that shows up again in the open shelving in the kitchen, offering a funky design element worth talking about. A thoughtfully designed pantry sits behind more beautiful glass doors, and there’s a fully manicured laundry room, complete with wallpaper and, of course, a luxe light fixture.
